Heidi Jo Sovacool

  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), as granted through Klose Training-Lymphedema Certification, November 2019.
  • Acquired a certificate as an AOTA Fieldwork Educator, (2011). Mentored student occupational therapy students (both OTA and OT) since 1997.
  • Wisconsin Accredited Judge for county and state level fair/contest entries in the areas of: Foods and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles, and Health and Wellness, since 2004.
  • Currently Registered by NBCOT OTR ® since original Registration in 1997.
  • Occupational Therapy degree, (BA OT) St. Catherine University, St. Paul MN in 1996.
  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in Wisconsin, License number: 3437-026.
  • CPR (BLS) Certified and current, since 2000.

Heidi Jo Sovacool, OTR, CLT

Occupational Therapist

Heidi Jo Sovacool OTR, CLT, and owner of Offering Hope Therapies, began her journey as an occupational therapist in 1996 and has been serving the Rusk county area since 2000. She has experience working in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient rehabilitation, schools, higher education (college), and industry settings promoting ergonomic wellness. She has written a subchapter of a college textbook and an editor for the same formal publication. She has been an international speaker twice in her career in Fort Worth, TX and SanDiego, CA.

She started Offering Hope Therapies in 2016. She feels grateful to serve the clients of the Rusk County area where she lives and raised a family. Her husband Nick works behind the scenes for the business and they have two adult children. Her areas of practice range from developmental challenges in infants and children, to bone and joint problems of the hands and arms, headaches, neurological problems, and swelling issues (lymphedema).

She also offers group exercise classes and home safety assessments. What Heidi Jo loves best about her work is the opportunity to connect with people, learn from them and help them (and their loved ones) improve skills, reduce pain, gain confidence, and most of all, to encourage hope in their journey of healing, and that is how the business got its name!

  • Current Advisory Board Member for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program of the Northwood Technical College system. (2001-2006), (2013-present).
  • Former Member and Co-chairman for the Upper Peninsula Chapter of the Michigan Occupational Therapy Association (1997-2000, 1999-2000).

Julie Kammerud

Julie Kammerud, DPT, CLT, graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the St. Catherine University (formerly known as the College of St. Catherine) of St. Paul, MN in 2008 and has spent her professional career serving the people of Rusk County in various settings; inpatient, outpatient and nursing home; and is now providing services at Offering Hope Therapies in Ladysmith.

Julie, and her husband Chris, spend most of their time following their children, Sophia and Nolan, around to their various activities and playing with their chocolate lab, Charlie. In her free time she enjoys crocheting, crosstich and when the weather warms up she loves boating with her family. Julie enjoys the variety a rural setting provides and specifically helps patients manage their symptoms and return to the activities they enjoy. She frequently works with patients dealing with pain in their back, neck, hips, knees, ankles and shoulders and also offers dry needling to address these symptoms.

Julie has a special interest in treating balance deficits and is a guest speaker for the Stepping On program that is offered locally. One of Julie’s best qualities is that she takes the time to genuinely understand a patient’s needs and what they want to achieve with therapy. Julie sincerely wants you to achieve your goals!

Heather vanDoon

Heather vanDoon, COTA, CLT, has been practicing occupational therapy as an occupational therapy assistant since 2007. She has experience working in hospitals, nursing homes, home health, and outpatient rehab. She is highly skilled in the areas of muscular and orthopedic rehabilitation as well as treating issues of swelling (lymphedema).

Heather cares deeply about her clients and works very closely with the team to be sure the client is getting the best possible care. Not only does she use her skilled hands to care for others, but is an extremely talented wood artist earning regional titles. Heather is native to the Rusk area and loves spending free time outdoors. She is married to her husband Tom, and they have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

Tanya is a “Jane of all trades” having worked in many fields and enjoyed many different aspects of life where the Lord has led her. She has worked as a prep cook, a recording technician, a choral director, a music teacher, a vocal adjudicator, a gas station manager, a cashier, a breastfeeding peer counselor for WIC, a homeschooling mom, a medical advocate for her son with special needs, a gym manager, a cleaner, a town treasurer, and now, is the office administrator and biller for Offering Hope Therapies. Tanya enjoys seeing clients come in and leave changed. She enjoys her ability to pray for every client that comes through the door. Please let her know how she can pray for you!
